Tatyana Nilovna Yablonska was born in Smolensk, Russia in 1917. She studied at the Kyiv Art Institute 1935-1941 at the studio of Fedir Krychevsky and in such pictures as ‘Bread’ (1949, Moscow, Tretyakov Gallery) she treated genre motifs in the monumental tradition established by Krychevsky. Active in Kyiv, Ukraine. Began exhibiting in 1939.Important shows include ‘All-Union Art Exhibition’, Moscow, 1946, 1947, 1949, 1950, 1952, 1955. She taught at the Kiev Art Institute from 1944 to 1952 (53?), and later from 1966 to 1973. Well-known works include: ‘Corn’ (1950. Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow), ‘Morning’ (1954. Tretyakov, Gallery, Moscow), ‘A Wedding’ (1963), ‘Youth’ (1969). She was one of the leading artists in Ukraine. Tatyana Yablonska died in 2005 in Kyiv.
