Russian painter, book illustrator and stage decorator. Kustodiev studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts from 1896 - 1903 in the studio of Illya Yefimovich Repin. He was a member of "World of Art" group since 1911, "Union of Russian Artists" group since 1907, and Artists Union of Russian Republic since 1923.
