Konstantin Ivanovich Gorbatov was born in 1876 in Samara. He studied in art school of F. Burov in Samara, at the Riga drawing and art school, and later at the department of architecture of St. Petersburg Art Academy in the studios of A. Kiselev and N. Dubovskoi. In 1911-1913 the artist worked in Italy, where he made a series of landscapes of Venice and Capri. Gorbatov’s main style was a landscape. In 1924 moved to Italy and in 1928 – to Berlin. Participated in the exhibition of Russian artists in Haag (1924), Pittsburgh (1925), Cologne (1929), Berlin (1930). He died in Berlin in 1945.
