Ignaty Nivinsky was born in Moscow in 1880. He graduated from the Stroganov Moscow Art College. Nivinsky taught at the Stroganov College in 1898-1905. He visited Italy in 1908 and 1912. The artist founded the society of engravers in 1918. Nivinsky was known for his etchings, book design and theatre design. The artist died in Moscow in 1933.
