Kostiantyn Yakovlevych Kryzhytsky was born in Kyiv in 1858. Studied at M.I.Murashko’s Kyiv Drawing School; at the St. Petersburg Art Academy (1877-1885). Active in St. Petersburg. Member of St. Petersburg Society of Artists from 1890 (founding member), of the Society of Russian Watercolorist; of the Kuindzhi Society from 1909 (founding member, chairman 1909-1911). Specialized in landscapes. Taught privately in St. Petersburg. Became academician in 1889. Became an Active Member of the Academy of Arts in 1900. Died in St. Petersburg in 1911.
