Boris Dmitrievich Grigoriev was born in Moscow in 1886. Studied at Stroganov Art College in 1903-1907; St. Petersburg Art Academy in 1907-1912 from where he was expelled for lack of ability; Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, Paris, c. 1913. Active in St. Petersburg until 1919 (in Paris 1912-1914). Immigrated in 1919 via Finland and Berlin to Paris, where he settled in 1921. In 1927 moved to Cagnes-sur-Mer. Lived in Santiago in 1927-1928 and New York in 1935. Exhibited with World of Art in 1910; Comradeship of Independents 1910. Produced many drawings and illustrations, relatively few paintings. Died in Cannes, France in 1939.
