Alexander Mikhailovich Lyubimov was born in Paltsevo, Kursk province in 1879. Studied at Shtiglits Technical Drawing College in 1895-1898; Moscow College of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture and Drawing School of OPKh; Imperial Academy of Arts in 1901-1909. Member of Comradeship of Independents from 1910; AKhRR 1928-1932. Exhibited with AKhRR. Taught at Kharkiv Art College in 1910s; Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1932; Leningrad Higher Arts and Crafts College from 1944. Also a graphic artist. Died in Leningrad in 1959.
