Gayane Khachaturian was born in Tbilisi in 1942. She befriended Sergei Paradzhanov in 1967 and received a great deal of support from him. With consent of Khachaturian a collector Valeriy Khanukaev established ‘Gayane Khachaturian International Foundation’ in 2008 which studies and promotes works of the artist. Khachaturian died in Tbilisi in 2009.
