Sergei Leontiev was born in Kharkiv in 1962. His family moved to Moscow in the early 1960s. He graduated from Moscow State Pedagogical Institute, department of linguistics in 1987. Leontiev was a member of ‘Immediate photography’ group. In 1991 together with Aleksey Shylgin and Yuri Palmin the artist started an agency called ‘Easy Life.’ At present time Leontiev works with Afisha publishing house. His works are represented by XL Gallery, Moscow.
