Iakov WEBER 1870 — 1958Яків ВЕБЕР • Яков Яковлевич ВЕБЕРIakov Weber was born in Saratov in 1870. An honorable painter of the Volga German Autonomous Republic, he studied art in Moscow in the studio of Konstantin Korovin. After seeing Weber’s studies of the Volga, Repin invited the artist to join his studio. Weber exhibited in Russia, Italy, Sweden and Holland. In 1915 the artist settled in the countryside in the village of Scherbakovka (Mullberg) where he continued to paint. The artist was arrested in 1937 and died in Chuvash Republic in 1958. |
