Леонард БЕНАТОВ • Леонард Михайлович БЕНАТОВ

Leonard Mikhailovich Benatov was born in Russia in 1899. Studied at the State Free Art Studios in Moscow in the studio of P. Konchalovsky in 1918-1921. Moved to Paris in 1922. Painted landscapes, still lives, portraits and genre paintings. Exhibited in the Autumn salon from 1924. Personal exhibition in the gallery Gerard in 1938. Benatov married Zoe, the daughter of Philipp Maliavin. Benatov died in France in 1972.
