Aleksandr Osipovich Orlovsky (Alexander Orlovsky) was born in Warsaw in 1777. Painter and graphic artist. Studied and worked in the studios of Y. Norblin around 1793-1802 and M. Batcherelli in Warsaw. In 1802 the artist came to Russia and settled in St. Petersburg. Orlovsky painted battle and genre paintings, portraits, cartoons. He was also a master of lithography. Died in 1832 in St. Petersburg.
