Leonid Sokov was born in Michalevo village, Kaliningrad region, Russian in 1941. Studied at Moscow Art School in 1956-1961 and at the Stroganov Moscow Higher Art and Industrial College in 1964-1969. In 1979 emigrated from the USSR. Since 1980 lives and works in New York.
