Alexander (Alexandre) Serebriakoff was the son of Zinaida Serebriakova. He moved to Paris with his mother in 1920, where he began his career as a set designer and decorator. Under the influence of his cousin Nikolai Benois and a friend Charles de Beistegui, the artist developed masterful watercolor technique, using which he painted interiors.
